Reflection on First Week

First week of 2010. Remembering that people are important but not that important. Forgetting my priorities. Reminding myself of true priorities and then getting lazy and disobedient a moment later. Becoming aware of wounds in my past. Pouting that they cannot go away completely, but thanking for Jesus Christ and His redemptive work in me. Beating myself up for forgetting that an hour later, then thanking God for His grace. Hanging out with my successful friends and realizing that quite possibly for the first time, being at peace with going on with my life at my pace. Then remembering the story of servants and talents. Wrapping up with this lovely Sunday evening not with guilt of under-achieving or dread of Monday morning, but with 2 Corinthians 12:8-9.
